The museum exhibit in the lobby is nice. My room appeared to be clean but was dark and in need of an update (walls were scuffed and there were exposed screws). The worst part was that there was quite a bit of street noise that was audible all night long. This hotel was far from a relaxing retreat from the city. Finally, the staff was pretty disengaged and not as professional as at other properties for the same price. Bottom line is that this is a budget hotel charging premium prices.

Fine. Overpriced.

Overall it was fine, but your hallways are dirty and dank. My room was falling apart (shower door didn't close, lights didn't turn off, there weren't enough outlets near the bed.) The front desk service was disappointing. The resort fee was hidden and annoying. I would not stay here again for the same price.

I read varying online reviews prior to my recent stay, but was pleasantly surprised by the accommodations. In Chicago for work, I wanted to stay at an affordable boutique hotel that wasn’t too far from McCormick Place. 21C delivered. My family and I travel to Chicago for pleasure several times per year, and 21C is at the top of our list for next trip!
